Intimacy

With this new series, it became ever clearer that I was looking for a kind of refuge from  violence.

The series is called “In the Intimacy of the 4stones.” Here, I focus on the relationship between these four characters. Getting closer, I look at the way they communicate with each other, the way they touch each other.  Sometimes, I think of them as a family with four members, expressing shelter, domination, tenderness, support, kinship.

Most of the backgrounds come from the Hudson River: home insulation remains, closet doors or metal signs… I picked up some of these just after Hurricane Sandy.
